charities provide support and enrichment opportunities for our students
and their families and neighbors.
Through Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless:
What a gift can do
$2 per pay period puts smiles on the faces of two homeless children by providing backpacks and school supplies.
$3 per pay period provides voice mail services for four homeless
Minnesotans for four months, allowing them the connection they need to
seek employment, education, and medical attention.
$5 per pay period provides more than 200 nutritious meals at a soup kitchen.
$10 per pay period provides groceries and household products for a family of four for a month through a food shelf.
Through Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation:
The following SPPS programs are supported:
Saint Paul Reads, tutoring programs for children with special needs, athletic programs for students with disabilities and family involvement programs for students whose first language is not English.
In addition, innovative
new programs in science and the arts including the technology and equipment to
enhance student learning and professional development assistance for our
teachers is provided.

Through Community Health Charities Minnesota:
What a gift can do
$2 per pay period Physical activity increases self-esteem by promoting a healthy body image.
$3 per pay period. While Cerebral Palsy cannot be cured – a person with
cerebral palsy may require therapy, medication or assistive technology
to lead a productive life. For $3, United Cerebral Palsy of
Minnesota can provide a person with a communication disorder the
opportunity to trial a communication device for one month.
$5 per pay period. In the U.S. approximately 1 in every 300 children will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 20. For $5, Cancer Kids Fund can keep an aquarium clean and stocked with colorful fish for kids to enjoy during a hospital stay.
$10 per pay period. Since 1993, Camp Heartland Project, Inc. has
provided 5,748 total camper experiences to HIV/AIDS-impacted youth. For
$10, Camp Heartland Project, Inc. can provide needed supplies to
stock the “Club Meds” infirmary, which is utilized by youth who need
medical care at camp.
 Through Community Shares of Minnesota What a gift can do
$2 per pay period provides two Minnesota inmates with a nonviolent conflict resolution and positive personal power workshop.
$3 per pay period allows 10 patients to geta glucose test for blood sugar problems.
$5 per pay period provides an interpreter for a community event so
our non-English speaking neighbors can participate and understand what
is happening in the neighborhood.
$10 per pay period trains 10 childcare providers in childcare
development, caring for children with special needs, or developing a
childcare curriculum that promotes early literacy skills.

Through Minnesota Environmental Fund:
What a gift can do
$2 per pay period outfits a crew of eightat-risk youth with tools
--like shovels, picks,levels, mallets, pry bars, hammers, drills -for a
summer of landscape training in area parks.
$3 per pay period provides water quality and pollution prevention
education to 50 school children and gives them a hands-on storm drain
stenciling experience that in turn educates the broader community.
$5 per pay period provides for the banding and monitoring of one nest of Bald Eagles.
$10 per pay period pays to harvest an acre of native grass seed to be used in prairie restoration projects.

Through United Arts:
What a gift can do
$2 per pay period brings professional artinstruction to children in public schools.
$3 per pay period purchases art supplies for a hands-on workshop for families.
$5 per pay period gives 15 low-incomechildren ballet classes for 15 weeks.
$10 per pay period pays for costumes andprops for a community theatre productionthat brings inner-city youth together withprofessional playwrights, actors and directors to create original theater.
Through Greater Twin Cities United Way:
What a gift can do
$ 2.50 per pay period — TEACHES two students from abusive backgrounds violence prevention so they can break the pattern of abuse.
$3 per pay period — HELPS four victims of domestic violence get counseling andlegal advice.
$5 per pay period — PAYS for a week of activities at a senior center.
$10 per pay period — PROVIDES 25 children with screenings for
medical, behavioral and developmental needs before entering
kindergarten.
